A large 19th Century Hookah base for the Indian market by F. & C. Osler. This Hookah base is characteristic of its heavy cutting on a typical elegant  bell form body, with a round flared neck with a ribbed cut collar. 

The body is decorated overall with intricate sunflower cut pattern within repetetive raised roundels. 

It is worthy to note that In the latter half of the 19th century Osler found success in India, the country’s wealth and efficient shipping links led the firm to choose India as its largest market outside the UK.

F. & C. Osler company was founded in Birmingham, England in 1807.
