An Early 20th Century Indian Repousée Silver mirror Frame, Vizianagaram District – South India.  

This impressive 60cm tall rectangular repoussée silver frame consists of an outer wide band of swirling vegetal decoration with two top and bottom corner figures of Krishna and a central coat of arms baring the following: E.B.E. from V R and dated 1905 1907.

The inner narrow border of the frame consists of a bamboo-like decoration. The frame is surmounted by the emblem of Vizianagaram consisting of two facing elephants carrying a cupola with their trunks in a protective posture of the interlaced monogram VR. Hovering above the cupola is the figure of Krishna in his chariot.

Measures: 60cm in height and 45cm in width.
